Annual Student Awards & Scholarships
MOVITE recognizes and supports and students by offering awards and scholarships every year. It aims to recognize academic excellence, leadership and commitment to the transportation field, while also easing financial burdens. These opportunities help nurture future professionals, encourage continued engagement, and promote growth within the ITE world. It also strengthens the connection between students and professional community, fostering long-term involvement and development. Student Leadership Summit
The ITE Student Leadership Summit began in 2014 at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, organized entirely by students to promote leadership and professional growth in transportation. These 1–3 day events, attended by around 100 students, are supported by ITE professionals through sponsorship and participation. Held across the U.S., Canada, and Australasia, the summits have engaged thousands of students and are a proud initiative that helps grow the global transportation community. MOVITE Student Competitions & Opportunities
Aligned with MOVITE meetings, students have the valuable opportunity to showcase their research, projects, and academic work to a professional audience. These presentations not only highlight their passion and effort but also offer a chance to earn cash awards in recognition of their achievements. Currently, MOVITE hosts poster and 5-minute presentation competitions, both designed to enhance students’ communication and presentation skills while engaging with the broader transportation community. Along with these competitions, MOVITE provides an opportunity to volunteer and work with the MOVITE LAC group in hosting the Annual Meeting. MOVITE Traffic Bowl Competition
Since 2009, ITE student chapters from the U.S. and Canada have competed in the Collegiate Traffic Bowl, a jeopardy quiz-style competition testing knowledge of transportation and ITE topics. Teams of up to three students compete at section and district levels, with district winners advancing to the Grand Championship held at ITE’s International Annual Meeting. MOVITE Student Support Fund
MOVITE is committed to supporting the next generation of transportation professionals. Through the MOVITE Student Support Fund, financial assistance is available to help students attend the MOVITE Annual Meeting. This funding helps offset travel, lodging, and registration costs, making it more accessible for students to participate in technical sessions, networking opportunities, competitions, and leadership development activities. By investing in student participation, MOVITE strengthens professional growth, mentorship, and long-term engagement within the transportation community.
Please fill out the application FORM by October 15, 2026. The MOVITE Student Activities Committee will let applicants know of any allotted funding on a case by case basis.
